Typical green and white fine cotton thread table set hand woven in Quebec using a typical Québec technique called boutonné. It comprises 7 placemats of a unique design with stylised lily flowers (a symbol of Quebec) on each end. They are made using fine cotton thread and decorated with white stripes and a band of lily flowers on each end made using the boutonné technique. The boutonné is a raised pattern of tiny loops or ringlets. Hand finished fringes to prevent fraying. A unique design and a wonderful work by a talented weaver in the 1970s or 1980 when there was such a strong revival of traditional techniques for the weaving of textiles.
